Full Description
At some time around 1920, on the ground being tested for new foundations for the A Block, facing St Mary's Church, what was identified as the outside red sandstone wall of the moat was reported (1). However, due to the lack of information available, it is not clear if this wall is part of that structure.
See CHER 10873/21 for a description of the thirteenth century moat and / or ditch which is roughly in this location.
