Full Description
Chester House consists of a former detached riverside house and former parsonage to St Paul’s Church, built c.1830. It is two storeys, double fronted and built of stuccoed brick with a grey slate hipped roof. The garden contains a range of 3 long and narrow barrel-vaulted subterranean chambers of brick, repaired and strengthened internally, apparently intended for boathouses or store-rooms.
The adjacent property, Barrel Well House, was built 1840s as a detached property but now converted to flats. It is two storeys on the north side facing Barrell Well Road with three storeys to the south facing the river. This building was probably formed from two detached mid 19th century houses united and remodelled. (1)
