Full Description
No 22 Eastgate Street consists of a stone undercroft, currently in use as a shop, of a probable early 17th century date. It was extensively altered in 1852 by T.M Penson for Mr Platt.
The shop front of the undercroft is presently 20th century with modern shop windows to the east. There are nine steps up to the Row walkway at the west end and a brick wall adjacent for the depth of the stallboard. The interior is entirely covered in plaster and presently joined with the undercroft at No 24 Eastgate Street. (1)
