Full Description
A possible pit or ditch cut, with a fill containing fragments of Roman ceramic building material and pre-dating a possible sandstone wall footing (CHER 8120), was identified during small scale archaeological recording of a new foundation trench at 6 – 10 Lower Bridge St. (or the Falcon Public House) (1). Any further observations on this feature were precluded by the confined area of the trench.
