Full Description
The remnants of a sandstone wall footing or similar feature were identified during small scale archaeological recording of a new foundation trench at 6 – 10 Lower Bridge St. (or the Falcon Public House) (1). The full extent and character of this sandstone masonry could not be established within the confined area of the trench, but it was overlain by sediment containing a small amount of Roman ceramic building material and third to fourth century pottery (1).
