Full Description
What was interpreted as a large Roman rubbish pit was partially excavated (not bottomed) during trial trenching at 106 - 110 Foregate St. in 1995 (1). The feature was excavated to a depth of 2.25m below its cut level. Given the proximity of occupational debris, such as in Trench I of this same excavation, it is thought that this was the associated rubbish dump for this part of the Canabae (1).
