Full Description
A disturbed sandstone 'cobble' surface, suggesting a yard, found during groundworks for what was then a proposed electricity substation in the northeast corner of Grosvenor Park. Later work at this location (ECH3925) also recorded a sandstone surface, and the excavators suggest it is likely part of the same feature (CHER 8026/1).
Like the later excavation, the associated finds suggested that this relate to a high status building that is not yet located (1). This surface sealed pit features of unknown function.
