Full Description
A long channel known as the 'Bye Wash' or 'The Feeder' shown on Tithe maps dating from 1828, 1840 and 1845. This is a feeder channel which ran from the western end of the Woolston New Cut at Paddington's lock to the Warrington terminus of the Runcorn to Latchford Canal at Manor Locks (CHER 4674/1/1). The feeder channel crossed the River Mesey at Mile's Bite by means of an aqueduct, which also served as a footbridge (CHER 4674/0/1) (1 & 2).
The majority of the channel and a small number of sluices associated, survive (3).
