Summary

Grade II listed Church of St.John the Baptist in Alfdord. There was a church here from at least the 14th century but the present church was rebuilt by the 2nd Marquis of Westminster and consecrated in 1866. The present church appears to stand immediately to the North of the medieval church. The north aisle of the present church is also built over the filled bailey ditch, and slumping has led to structural problems.

Full Description

Church of St.John the Baptist, Church Lane. The church had rectors from C14, but the present church was rebuilt by the 2nd Marquis of Westminster and consecrated in 1866 (1).
