Summary

A grade II Listed Parish boundary stone sited on grass verge adjacent to walled boundary with agricultural land, on a minor road leading to Tegg's Nose Country Park. Sandstone block with semi-circular head and deeply incised 'M 1822' for Macclesfield on the north face. Stone comprises two blocks fixed together, the front 9cm thick and the rear 5cm thick. Monument stands 0.63m high by 0.36m wide, 0.75m from the tarmac road.

Full Description

Parish boundary stone: dated 1822. Semi-circular headed sandstone block with a well cut "M 1822" (for Macclesfield) on the north face. There are 5 boundary stones of Macclesfield on the boundaries with Rainow (two) and Macclesfield Forest (three) (1).
