Description

The cultural heritage assessment is chapter 12 of an Environmental Statement produced in support of a proposed extension to South Arclid Quarry, near Sandbach in Cheshire. The Proposed Development comprises an extension of silica sand workings into the South Western Extension as well as a revised site wide Development Programme and restoration scheme. The continuing expansion of South Arclid Quarry near Sandbach has resulted in several phases of archaeological assessment, together with successive watching briefs during soil-stripping operations between 2009 and 2017, all conducted by CPAT.
