Description

An archaeological and heritage assessment of land at Stanney Lane, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, produced to inform proposals for a residential development. The desk-based assessment was supplemented by a walkover field survey. The report has confirmed that the site does not contain any designated heritage assets such as world heritage sites, scheduled monuments, registered parks and gardens, registered battlefields or listed buildings. The only designated heritage asset where the potential has been identified for effects on their setting as a result of the proposed development is the Grade II listed building of Lime Tree Farmhouse and attached shippon to the south of the application site. The assessment concludes that the development would cause some change to the setting of the farmhouse, by virtue of the change in use of the land from agricultural to residential. (1)
