Description

Archaeological evaluation carried out in Grosvenor Park in advance of planned alterations to the lodge within the park. The evaluation comprised 4 test pits, two in the environs of the lodge and two in the playground near Union Street. The results of the evaluation included evidence of intact Roman features cutting the natural clay with post medieval soils above. No confirmed medieval deposits, however.
