Full Description
During trial excavations in Grosvenor Park, near the extant Lodge building and also at the site of a proposed pavilion south of Union St., the foundation of a sandstone courtyard wall and part of a rubble-filled cellar were recorded in Trial Pits 1 and 2 respectively (1). Cartographic evidence showed that an eighteenth century building occupied the site prior to the Lodge building. Finds described as post medieval in date were recovered (1).
