Description

Thomas St., no longer extant, roughly 500 feet due east from northeast angle of the Roman fortress, Roman deposits that could be characterised as an iron processing or metalworking area were identified (1). At the junction of Canal and Raymond Streets, roughly four feet below the surface, Roman roof tiles and second century Samian ware were found in unspecified circumstances (1, 2). 67 Handbridge: worn sandstone surface with Roman pottery (1)
