Full Description
Investigations by Newstead in his garden recorded quantities of Roman pottery and a sandstone surface of possible Roman date. The surface was recorded for a length of 4.86m and consisted of a single layer of roughly cut blocks of local sandstone with a worn surface. A single fragment of second century Samian ware was discovered from the surface (1).
