Site Event/Activity record ECH4883 - The Leadworks, Chester: Phase 3 Archaeological Impact Assessment & further building surveys

Second assessment report produced in 2001 looking at the impact of the proposals for redevelopment of the Leadworks site, containing proposals for the archaeological mitigation of any buried archaeology. Where development does not impact on the archaeological remains, the report proposes preservation in situ. The actual impact of the proposals will be limited because the 19th century buildings within the area have already been substantially altered. The report concludes that the development impact on any archaeological deposits should be managed with a watching brief to record and enhance the existing documentary archive.
