Description
The University of Manchester Archaeological Unit was commissioned by the Environment Agency to carry out a rapid archaeological survey of the Mersey Bollin catchment in Cheshire and Greater Manchester. The survey comprises three states:-
Stage 1: A desk-based assessment of the designated rivers and tributaries in the catchment. (Sources 1-2)
Stage 2: Programmes of field validation visits.
Stage 3: Production of a final report. (Sources 3-5)
