Description

This event represents a minor archaeological excavation of a yard behind 12 St John St., to uncover the remnants of the city's Roman fortress wall, first excavated in 1908 and then subsequently backfilled. The previously excavated trench was emptied by hand, and the surviving masonry was cleaned and recorded.
