Description
An archaeological evaluation of the nave and south transept of Chester Cathedral, representing the third element in a programme of archaeological evaluation to inform the restoration of the floors and an installation of an underfloor heating system, and also to address specific issues regarding the archaeology of the cathedral. Fourteen trenches were excavated to significant archaeology, and burial vaults and structural remains were left in place, and the excavation of articulated burials was avoided wherever possible.
