Description

Excavations were carried out between 1941 and 1942 on the north side of Pepper St., approximately 103 feet from the southeast corner of St Michael's Church (1). A 'square sided pit of solid masonry' (cellar?) was found, which had presumably removed any Roman remains that had bee expected at this location (1).
