Summary

A small quantity of Roman roof tile and a single 3rd century coin were recovered from the north side of Pepper Street near the line of the fortress walls in 1941.

Full Description

A third century Roman coin and some roof tiles were recovered during the construction of a rectangular shaft on the north side of Pepper Street in 1941. The excavations revealed a substantial solid block of masonry believed to have destroyed any Roman structural remains. (1)
