Description

Following 1908 excavations at the site of the Telephone Exchange, formal archaeological excavations were undertaken in February 1930. The full south east corner of the Roman city defences were recorded, in addition to the internal tower at this location (2, 3). Referred to as Site No. 29 in the City Defences Monograph (5)
