Description

As a result of the construction work at James Edward's Garage in Upper Northgate St. in 1983, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery was collected from the disturbed surface across the site (1). The Roman material included roofing tiles and pottery typical of the second to fourth centuries. The medieval pottery was of thirteenth century date, and the post medieval was from the eighteenth to nineteenth century (1).
