Description

Hunter Street, 1898: Number of bronze pins, buckles and fibula as well as a domestic lamp, a coin and a glass vial were recorded during excavations. Also noted were fragments of Samian ware, amphorae and roofing tiles (1). CHER 8088/16. Eastgate Street, 1898: Tile flooring found in Godstall Alley (2). CHER 8394 Godstall Ln. West, 1898: A small apsidal structure formed of alternating courses of tiles and masonry, with a concrete floor, were found on the premises belonging to Messrs Dutton. Many small finds, including bronze, are reported (3). CHER 8379/4
