Date
1976
Description
1976 - Waterloo Road was dug up for gas inspection revealing the agger of the Roman road. As excavations elsewhere in the Roman fort area proved buildings & streets run at right angles to the present road, this probably indicates that Waterloo Road is on the line of one of the Roman internal streets. Early maps indicate that Waterloo Road & Peckforton Road were in existence before housing development.
