Description
Kerridge is notable for:
• Rural character with large, open fields
• Undulating topography, dominated by Kerridge Hill
• A dense backdrop of trees on the hillside above Windmill Lane
• Dispersed groups of cottages, centred on Chancery Lane, Jackson Lane, Redway Lane and Higher Lane
• Stone paved footpaths linking quarries and cottages
• Hollin Hall Hotel, the most important building
• The inclined plane, which largely forms the southern boundary, between the quarries of Windmill Lane and the canal
