Source/Archive record SCH9765 - Geophysical Survey Report: Aston Grange

Report of a geophysical survey (fluxgate gradiometer) undertaken in 2024 for land, c. 53.1 ha in area area, at Aston Grange, Runcorn, Cheshire (SJ 57385 77324). The survey was successfully carried out across most of the survey area, except for an area of c. 2ha of wet ground located within the corridor to the north. Several historical features were recorded including former ponds and field boundaries depicted on historical mapping. Modern drainage features and ploughing were also identified. However, there were undetermined anomalies for which an archaeological origin cannot be ruled out.
