Site Event/Activity record ECH7388 - Geophysical Survey Report: Aston Grange

A geophysical survey (fluxgate gradiometer) was undertaken in 2024 for land, c. 53.1 ha in area, at Aston Grange, Runcorn, Cheshire (SJ 57385 77324). The survey was successfully carried out across most of the survey area, except for an area of c. 2ha of wet ground located within the corridor to the north. Several historical features were recorded including former ponds and field boundaries depicted on historical mapping. Modern drainage features and ploughing were also identified as were undetermined anomalies for which an archaeological origin cannot be ruled out. (1)
