Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was required during groundworks at 224 Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington for a piling bed. The site lies on the western side of Wilderspool Causeway (A49), to the south side of its junction with River Road. It was formerly the location of the Wilderspool Iron Works, also known as the Palatine Works, evidence of which was found in the form of concrete floors and brick foundations.
