Abstract/Summary

A heritage assessment and photographic record was produced in 2020 in support of proposals for internal and external alterations, including the construction of a menage, at Allostock Hall, Holmes Chapel Road, Knutsford. Allostock Hall, formerly named Sculshaw Lodge, and its associated Stables to the north-east, are Grade II Listed. Allostock Hall, was originally built in the late 17th Century and subsequently altered in the 19th Century in a Regency style, adding a wing to either side with further later building additions. To the north east of the hall is a stables building constructed in the mid – 19th Century. Built from brick under a slate roof, with a stuccoed front and side elevation the building has been raised at ridge level, most likely in the 19th Century remodelling.
