Abstract/Summary
Observations during the trenching, which extended to a depth of c 1m in most areas, revealed largely modern deposits but to the north of the churchyard disturbed but still articulated human remains were uncovered. These clearly derive from burials around the church and indicate a formerly more extensive cemetery. Dating evidence was absent but they clearly pre-date the houses depicted on 19th-century maps. The remains were reburied in the town cemetery.
