Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a new gas main running through Middlewich town centre, a part of which ran adjacent to St Michael and All Angels Church. Five deposits of human burials were encountered in
this area, four of them heavily disturbed. The human remains have been assessed by a osteologist and arrangement for their reburial under the terms of a Ministry of Justice licence have been made.
