Abstract/Summary

Evidence in support of significant archaeological remains within the site is not substantial but cannot be entirely excluded given the evidence for Tattenhall as a whole and the surrounding area. The suggested presence of a villa within Tattenhall as well as the nature of the geology being suited to agriculture would suggest that such activity should be expected within the site. Evidence for medieval and later use also suggests agriculture. It is anticipated that any archaeological deposits within the site area are unlikely to be of national significance and the effect of development in this area is considered to be of minor to moderate significance.
