Abstract/Summary
Watching brief conducted during excavation of a cable trench to the east of the moat and during onstruction of an extension to the ticket office to the west of the hall revealed a pit or ditch with Roman pottery, late medieval dumped material, walls and a culvert relating to 19th-century buildings, and other boundary features.
