Date/Year 2011

Abstract/Summary

The archaeological work was prompted by the claims for the possible significance of the site in early medieval times (placename, possible enclouse, and recovery of 6th-century Byzantine coin). Maintenance of a watching brief and a metal detector survey during disturbance associated with the construction of a new electirc bike track, however, did not reveal any features of archaeological interest or recover any artefacts.
