Description
Watching brief and metal detector survey carried out during groundworks associated with the construction of new electric bike trail
The survey and watching brief were successfully undertaken in accordance with the method
statement. No archaeologically significant remains were identified.
A range of small metal and ceramic artefacts were collected during the works- they were
examined and discarded since all were of 19th or 20th Century origin from within the plough
soil, and not considered to be of archaeological significance. They consisted of domestic
ceramics, iron nails, a 20th Century coin and a small lead (pistol) shot
