Abstract/Summary
Report of a Geophysical survey commisioned to further inform the make up of this section of the wall. (A 20 metre section at Rufus Court in the North section of the historic city walls of Chester). Ground penetrating Radar was the method of survey employed. The survey identified sections of the core of the wall with a strong discrete anomalies in the radar response which are likely to have been casued by poor construction or deterioration of the core with associated voiding. However there was no particular signature in the radar returns that could be associated with the know sections of Roman walls which could in turn be used to identify section so surviving roman wal in the rebuilt section.
