Abstract/Summary
Report describes the results of a watching brief during the excavation of strip foundations for new student accommodation in the grounds of Abbey Gate School, Victoria Road which was also being refurbished following a fire. Bedrock at up to 1m below modern ground level was overlain by clayey sand and modern surfaces. No significant archaeological deposits were located.
