Abstract/Summary
A desk-based assessment of the archaeological implications of the proposed route for the A533 Davenham By-Pass. Findings include potential prehistoric burial evidence, also evidence for Roman, Saxon and medieval settlement and industry. A scheme of archaeological evaluation including field walking, geophysical and limited excavation in the form of trial trenches was recommended.
