Abstract/Summary
Archaeological excavation undertaken in 1995 on land at Kinderton Hall Farm, Middlewich. The excavation revealed that a cropmark enclosure, identified initially from air photographs, is not infact a single, rectangular enclosure, but rather a series of linear features. These were interpreted as infilled ditches and gulleys which represent relict land divisions and drainage channels dating from the medieval period. It is thought that the site was under an agricultural regime since woodland clearance as no evidence was identified to suggest it was ever used for settlement or industrial purposes.
