Abstract/Summary
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in 1998 on the proposed extension (Risley V) to the Risley landfill site, south of Culcheth, near Warrington (centred SJ 6630 9410). The site, measuring a maximum of 1100m east-west by 350m north-south, comprises three large fields of arable.
The remains of a Second World War Fleet Air Arm military base exist in the western part of the site.
