Full Description
<1> C S Dobinson, 2000, Twentieth Century Fortifications in England: Supporting paper AA/1; Searchlight Sites in WWII (Report). SCH4458.
Searchlight battery at Bent Lane Farm. Manned by 352 Company of 38 (The King's Regiment) AA Battalion RE. It was in Section 9, Number 22. It was part of the Liverpool defences and is part of a much larger distribution that covered large areas of Cheshire, some of which are shown as part of this group. However this list is far from exhaustive and should only be considered as an example of searchlight layouts for the war.
<2> The GeoInformation Group, 2005, 1940s RAF Aerial Photographs from Operation Review, 106G UK 1186, 21/02/46 (Aerial Photograph). SCH4608.
Some circular and rectangular earthworks are visible overlying earlier ridge and furrow.
