Summary

Records show that by 1300 there were two watermills at Bradley, with ponds and watercourses. They were later shown on maps of Cheshire by Shown on Burdett (1777) and Bryant (1831). Recent survey has shown that the pool of the lower mill is well defined but silting up.

Full Description

By 1300 there were two watermills at Bradley, with ponds and watercourses (1). In 1965 the remains of the back wall and the pipe to the pentrough remained at the site of Bradley Lower Mill, at the end of the cottages. The pool is well defined but silting (2). Shown on Burdett 1777, Bryant 1831 (3).
