Full Description

Medal or souvenir, possibly of brass. 45mm diam x 2mm thick. Obverse: classical style head (of the style known as 'after the antique') in profile looking left, against a background of punched dots. This is within a plain border bearing the inscription ANDREAS CRISPUS PAT(AV)INVS AE(RI)MDANT CANDELABRVM(I). Reverse: star-shaped design, each arm of which is formed of a single line of punched dots, on a background of haphazard dots. Probably late 18th-early 19th century & a souvenir of the grand tour of Europe. Found & reported by Mr N.Stonier of Newbold Astbury (1).
