Full Description
Built in 1885 as part of the Bollin Mills complex, by Josiah Smale & Son. 4 storeyed mill with an attached single storeyed, 4 bay deep weaving shed with north light roof trusses (1). Linked to George Street Mill by toilet block. The development of the George Street Mill site marked the change from traditional mill construction methods to those of the 20th century, with the new mill being built to accomodate powered Jacquard looms (2). Built of stock brick and slate roof, with cast iron and rolled steel loadbearing framework. Large 3.8 x 4.6m windows (1).
