Full Description
Terrace of 24 2-storey 4 room stone built cottages, stone flagged roofs, small gardens in front, yards at the back, privies with pitched roofs, one between two cottages. There are 5 similar cottages on the east side of Moss Brow, with 8 later ones to the south. On the west side are 5 2-storey brick built cottages with stone flag roofs, continued into Moss Lane (1). Built before 1835, but after 1811, as worker's accommodation for Lowerhouse Mill, and incorporated into Samuel Greg's "experiment". ECTMS 131 (2). Marked on the OS 1st edition 6" map (3). To the NW is the 1862 Lowerhouse Library (1).
