Summary

Grade II listed Viaduct crossing the river Bolin presumably built for the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway. This Viaduct needed regular maintainance and in 1918 the cost of improvement was £12,500 pounds. These improvements were not carried out until 1919 due to a shortage of steel because of the war. Only one train at a time was allowed to cross the Viaduct during this period,

Full Description

Hurdsfield Road Viaduct, presumably built for the Macclesfield, Bollington & Marple Railway (1). This Viaduct needed regular maintainance, straddled the River Bolin. Cost of Improvement in 1918 was 12,500 pounds. These improvements were not carried out until 1919 due to a shortage of steel because of the war. Only one train at a time was allowed to cross the Viaduct during this period (2).
