Summary

During an archaeological evaluation to the rear of Nicholas House on Nicholas St. in 1975, several medieval features were identified, including cess pits containing fragments of glazed medieval tile. Most of these features were truncated by later disturbances.

Full Description

During an archaeological evaluation to the rear of Nicholas House on Nicholas St. in 1975, several medieval features were identified, including a section of the Dominican friary precinct wall (CHER 10317/1) and what are described as cess pits containing fragments of glazed medieval tile. Most of these features were truncated by later disturbances (1, 2, 3).
