Summary
A substantial medieval pit was recorded during archaeological investigations at Weaver Street in 1956. The excavations were required following the demolition of two houses for the purpose of street widening in the area. A medieval pit was found to have substantially disturbed any trace of earlier activity.

Full Description
A substantial medieval pit was recorded during archaeological investigations at Weaver Street in 1956. The excavations were required following the demolition of two houses for the purpose of street widening in the area. Two trenches were excavated and in trench 2 the medieval pit was found to have substantially disturbed any trace of earlier activity. (1)
